About

Say what matters when it matters.

I am S Venkattesh Prasanna. I train and coach people in the things that decide how work actually goes. How clearly you speak. How well you listen. Whether you do what you said you would do.

I started out as a mechanical engineer and spent thirteen years selling industrial equipment. I learnt there that the best technical answer loses to the person who explains it better. That is the gap I have worked on ever since.

In 2014 I founded Sun Training Systems in Bengaluru. We work with organisations across India and Nepal, in telecom, manufacturing, agriculture, automotive, insurance, banking, retail and government.

The road here

Thirteen years in sales, then a talk that changed the plan.

  1. Mechanical engineering

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering at Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Tumkur.

  2. Thirteen years in industrial sales

Larsen & Toubro, Sandvik and ESAB. Technical selling, long cycles, rooms full of engineers who had already made up their minds.

  3. August 2002

    A one-hour talk in Kerala

I was asked to speak for an hour. By the end of it I knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my working life.

  4. 2003

    First training assignment

KUIDFC, Government of Karnataka. Absenteeism came down 20%.

  5. 2005 to 2013

    National Training Head

Helped scale a national sales network from ₹4 Cr to ₹40 Cr a year by growing its leadership base from 5 to 50.

  6. November 2014

    Sun Training Systems

Founded in Bengaluru. The Airtel engagement started the same year and ran for ten years, including eight-hour virtual days right through the pandemic.

  7. 2020

    Down 86%, then back

The pandemic took 86% of the business. I rebuilt it with daily goals, daily outreach and daily learning, to more than ten times that low.

  8. Now

The A-to-G Framework and the book

Everything I had been teaching, written down as seven letters and published as a book for trainers and professionals.

How I work

Learning by Doing.

Nobody changes how they speak because they watched a slide about it. So my sessions are built around activities that put people in the situation they are avoiding.

  • Simulate the real thing

Negotiations, conflicts, sales conversations, leadership decisions. Run in the room, with the people who have to do them on Monday.

  • Debrief honestly

What happened, what it cost, what to do differently. Clarity is kindness to learners.

  • Leave with a standard

Not motivation. A standard the team can hold each other to after I have gone.

Awareness + Discipline + Focus = Inevitable Achievement.

That equation became the A-to-G Framework. Seven letters. One path from knowing yourself to reaching your goal.
